As the topic states, what is YOUR technique? Which do you find is 'easier' on the car?

For me it depends on the surface, but in general i rev to 6 or 8 grand and pop the clutch.

Well, the technique Swiffy showed me - and the only technique I know.

1. Lift Handbrake
2. Lift clutch till engine engages and hold
3. Rev to 5000 or great rpm.
4. Release clutch, handbrake and continue accelerating.

First things - all types of launch is harsh. And not just on the transmission but on everything else as well. All the things that go into turning the wheels from stand still to high revolutions will go under stress.

As Moet said - it's not harsh because the engine and transmission are partially engaged already so that helps when the full power is engaged.
